FOUNDERS CLASSICAL ACADEMIES OF ARKANSAS CURRICULUM

At Founders Classical Academies of Arkansas, our curriculum blends Core Knowledge with a Classical approach. This well-rounded approach equips students for success in academics and life beyond the classroom.

Kindergarten to Grade 5: Early Foundations

01

Beginning with Kindergarten, our curriculum is anchored in the Core Knowledge and Classical-focused scope and sequences, prioritizing literacy and numeracy development.

02

Riggs Phonics and Singapore Math/Math in Focus form the cornerstone of our approach, ensuring that students achieve reading comprehension and math proficiency levels consistently above their current grade.

03

We introduce classic literature, U.S. and world history, and natural science from the earliest grades, nurturing a love for learning and a solid foundation in these subjects.

04

Continuous memorization of classic nursery rhymes, poems, speeches, and historical works enriches students' minds with meaningful content, while also honing their memorization and public speaking skills.

Middle School: Building Foundations

01

Students engage in in-depth studies of classical literature, delving into timeless works that inspire critical thinking and literary appreciation.

02

Students delve into Greek and Latin roots to deepen their language understanding and expand vocabulary skills, laying a strong linguistic foundation for advanced studies.

03

Middle school students embark on a four-year Latin sequence, enhancing vocabulary, grammar proficiency, and precise language usage. This sequence not only fulfills their language requirements for graduation but also promotes linguistic excellence.

04

Logic and ethics are integrated into the curriculum, fostering critical thinking skills essential for advanced academic pursuits and personal development.

High School: Specialized Growth

01

Each grade level continues to explore literature from the classical canon and develop proficiency in classical composition. This fosters analytical thinking and effective communication.

02

History studies progress chronologically, covering Western Civilization from the Greco-Roman era through the complexities of the Modern Era. This provides a comprehensive understanding of historical contexts.

03

Science courses evolve, starting with Biology in 9th grade and culminating in the challenging AP Physics by 12th grade, preparing students for advanced scientific pursuits.

04

Mathematics education advances through Euclidian Geometry and concludes with the rigorous AP Calculus AB, ensuring students are well-prepared for higher-level mathematical studies.
